Electronics and Communication Engineering

The Electronics and Communication Engineering branch has a special status in engineering Education. The rapid strides which the electronics & communication field is making allover the world are amazing and have created necessity for enormous man power in this field. AITS is sensitive to this reality and made an honest beginning in providing sophistication in imparting knowledge in Electronics & communication Engineering field. The institute at present is having an in take of 120 Students atfirst year level to be turned as engineers and technocrafts in ECE branch alone. The department is setting a path of success to "Budding Engineers". Also aiming to bring out a situation conscious student community to realize the obiectives of Vision 2020.

The department has a team of well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members with industrial and research background. The department has good infrastructural facilities and is well equipped with sophisticated modern equipments as well as teaching aids: audio - visual facilities like display charts, OHP / LCD / E - Class, seminar and conference hall.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Electricity is an essential entity of every walk of life either in Industry, Agricultural, Software, Transport and domestic. Electrical & Electronics Engineereing is a very vital branch of engineering dealing with fundamentals, generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electric power and also the required equipment and machinery.

In order to meet the present day advanced technological changes, the course is interwoven with Electronics, Information technology and Communication skills etc. With an aim to produce effective and practical oriented graduates, AITS has started a fully equipped EEE department with all the relevant modernized laboratories. The department is having qualified and experienced staff members with high Academic, Industrial and research background. The students are augmented in their knowledge through practical experiments in well planned labs such as
  • Machines Lab
  • Circuits Lab
  • Control Systems Lab
  • Power Electronics Lab
  • Electrical Measurements Lab
  • FM & HM Lab
  • Electrical Work Shop
The labs are designed to meet the updated technological requirements and the students are tested rigorously and trained by experienced and qualified staff and lab assistants.

Computer Science and Engineering

There is a clear demand for graduates of CSE Course. According to a survey conducted by the NASSCOM there is a 'skills gap', in IT and CSE fields apart from adaptability to industry with titles like Software Engineer, Database Administrator, Network Administrator etc., one can also take a career in research. Plenty of career opportun ities await in areas such as Internet design and Management, Security and Programming, Database Management and so on. In view of the above the AITS with vision has started CSE course with an in take of 120 students at first year level. The course structure of CSE in AITS is well framed to meet the challenges posed by the global software industry.

The curriculum incorporates all the core computer science subjects highlighting the features and the fundamental theoretical aspects of current computer systems and application software. Academic training is provided to the students in the application areas such as Advanced Data Structures using C, C++ and Java in windows and Unix Platform, word Processing using LATEX, Advanced Data Base Management Systems, Data warehousing, Data mining object Oriented Analysis Design through UML, Software Programming Management Information Security (Cryptography and Network Security), operating System, Information Security, Embedded Systems, Web technologies, design and analysis of Algorithms, Formal Languages and Automata Theory, Compiler Construction, Artificial Intelligence, Mobile and Pervasive computing, parallel computing, Network management systems, Image processing e-commerce, Virtual Reality, human Computer Interface etc.

The department is having state-of-art laboratories through three large well equipped sophisticated air conditioned computer labs exclusively for the training the students for Practical nature of the course will allow the students to experience real-world applications and techniques. Experienced and dedicated staff are continuously monitoring the progress of the students in that direction.

Information Technology Department

Information Technology is the latest discipline of science and technology gathering momentum to amalgamate the advanced technologies towards fulfilling the modern needs of the society. This discipline is an off shoot of computer science based upon the solid foundation of computer technology integrated with electronic & communication science. Its universal appeal in the form of IT enabled services is the outcome of splendid achievements by the scientists in the last two decades.

The Department of IT in AITS has the modern facilites such as LCD / E-c1ass, seminar room" and conference hall etc. The students have extensive training programs in the subjects like C programming and Data structures, computer organization, principles of programming, OOPS through JAVA, Software Engineering, Networking, Computing and Information Security, Databases, Web Designing, Unified Modeling Language and Media Design. The students of IT in AITS gain up-to-date knowledge of programming languages, communication contexts and areas Including commerce and Wireless Application Protocol (WAP).

IT department has fully equipped laboratories as perthe norms of JNTU and AICTE. The laboratories supplement the theoretical background of the students through exposure to most modern devices. The Lab, IT workshop, is cross I isted between the Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering Departments. The major objective of the course is to acquaint the student with basic computer hardware organization and to provide hands-on experience in designing a single board computer which is the major vehicle for learning.

Students design and simulate their solutions using accurate timing models of components. The computer laboratories are having a network, Linux and Windows operating systems with relevant software. The Overall ratio of computers to students is high. Using these facilities, the students learn how to build advanced applications and develop professional skills in project management and the methodologies surrounding web designing.

Humanities Department

Humanities and sciences in AITS is functioning as an ancillary department aiding in the conduct of technical and management courses in its domain. The department is multidisciplinary and has well qualified faculty. The burgeoning importance placed on oral communication skills by the employers has been echoed internationally for over a decade across all disciplines. Knowledge and technical know-how are clearly important but these must be presented with an excellent standard of communication skills particularly oral. AITS addresses to this requirement in full, with well established languages and communication skills laboratories enriched with experienced talent and young intelligentsia. The department of Humanities & Sciences at AITS signifies a conscious and committed effort to leverage education as a means of empowerment of youth. The Humanities and sciences department is successfull in creating awareness thus enabling the students to assert their individuality and intellectual capacity, economic independence, social standing and to strive in building a progressive nation.
